James Wan and Leigh Whannell Want to SILENCE Fans in LA

In 2007, Dead Silence, James Wan and Leigh Whannell’s follow up to their hit film Saw, was released.  Unfortunately for the two Aussies, Dead Silence failed to match the success of their previous effort.  Stepping away from the blood and brutality which bathed Saw, their follow-up hinted at more subtle scares surrounded by a creepy atmosphere.  Although the film failed to make a slash at the box-office, the film has a growing fan-base.  So much so, that the film will be shown at midnight this Friday, January 14 at the Nuart Theater in Los Angeles.  As an added bonus, fans of the film will be able to meet the directing and writing duo as well!  Read on for more info.

Bloody-Disgusting.com and Landmark Theatres are presenting Dead Silence at the Nuart under the theaters “CINE Insomnia” banner.  The screening, complete with a  Q&A with the writer and director, will cost you $10 to get in.  James Wan and Leigh Whannel are set to unleash their new horror film, Insidious, this spring.  The Nuart is located at 11272 Santa Monica Blvd.  The flier for the event and other “CINE Insomnia” screenings is below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
