Horrorhound Weekend Spotlights CHROMESKULL: LAID TO REST II

With an already packed line-up that includes a Suspiria reunion, a House by the Cemetery reunion, a Killer Klowns from Outer Space reunion, and an 80’s Slasher Fest, this spring’s Horrorhound Weekend is set to be a huge event.  To add to the impressive line-up, they have just added the director and two cast members of the upcoming slasher sequel Chromeskull: Laid to Rest II.  Robert Hall is bringing his original killer, Chromeskull, back in the sequel that is set to come out later this year.  Besides director Robert Hall, find out who else will be showing up to Indianapolis in March after the break.

Robert Hall made a name for himself with his make-up and effects house Almost Human.  Getting his start working on such TV shows as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, Hall’s company has since become a major name in the industry working on Quarantine, Paranormal Activity 2, and The Crazies remake (just to name a few).  Besides focusing his time on effects, the self-proclaimed horror fan has gone on to directing as well.  After a series of independent features, Hall released the film that would put him on the map.  Laid to Rest came out straight to DVD in April 2009.  The film received acclaim due to its graphic violence and the introduction of a new voyeuristic villain: Chromeskull.  The sequel, Chromeskull: Laid to Rest II, is currently in post-production and will be released in October of this year.

Who will also be making an appearance and meeting fans at Horrorhound Weekend is Nick Principle.  Nick Principe is well known for his portrayal as the iconic ChromeSkull in Laid to Rest, as well as the upcoming sequel. He also made an uncredited appearance in Hatchet II (another film that has helped re-ignite the slasher genre).

Rounding out the guests attached to Chromeskull is Angelina Armani.  Angelina is a well known star in adult cinema, and appears in the upcoming Bloodstruck.  There, she will be appearing alongside the famous scream queen Linnea Quigley.

Horrorhound is saying that “all three of these great new guests will participate in a special panel for Laid to Rest II as well as premiering “something special” for the film!”

Horrorhound Weekend is March 25-27  in Indianapolis.  To find out more info on the event, check out the magazine’s website here.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
