The Foo Fighters Horror-Comedy, ‘STUDIO 666’, Looks to Be a Silly Demonic Display of Shlock

While I’m probably more of a metal fan, I do like Foo Fighters. Mainly, I dig Dave Grohl. His transparency and honesty are something to be admired considering that the Foo Fighters are a pretty mainstream band. The fact that they want to make a feature-length debut with a horror-comedy makes me love them a bit more. Take a look at the trailer for the film, Studio 666!

SYNOPSIS

In STUDIO 666, the legendary rock band Foo Fighters move into an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history to record their much anticipated 10th album.  Once in the house, Dave Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.

It looks super silly but it also looks like the band is having a good time with this as well. The film is directed by BJ McDonnell. Horror fans may know that name as the director of Hatchet III, which was his only previous feature-length directorial effort. He has been a camera operator working under David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Shazam!) and is currently working on the newest adaptation of Salem’s Lot.

Andy Triefenbach is the Editor-in-Chief and owner of DestroytheBrain.com. In addition to his role on the site, he also programs St. Louis' monthly horror & exploitation theatrical midnight program, Late Nite Grindhouse. Coming from a household of a sci-fi father and a horror/supernatural loving mother, Andy's path to loving genre film was clear. He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
