Call 911, the ‘SCREAM’ (2022) Trailer Has Broken In

When SCREAM came out in December 1996, I was 15 years old. I was the perfect audience for the meta-aware horror film as the backdrop of horror film knowledge was something I was familiarizing and educating myself with. 25 years later, I’m excited to see a new entry (this is also coming from someone who thinks SCREAM 4 got a bad rap), but begrudgingly am muttering under my breath “Why didn’t they call it SCREAM 5 or 5CREAM?” as I’m not a fan of sequels having the same nomenclature as the film they are sequelizing. Oh well. It’s done. The trailer’s here. Let’s watch.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

SCREAM (2022) will be in theatres on January 14, 2022.
