Late Nite Grindhouse Presents ‘TWO THOUSAND MANIACS’ at Marcus Des Peres 14 Cine on March 10 & 11

Late Nite Grindhouse is proud to present a film from the original Godfather of Gore, Herschell Gordon Lewis, as part of its 2023 program. LNGH celebrates cult, horror, & exploitation cinema and Two Thousand Maniacs from 1964 is definitely one of the first gore films! Now, you get to see it on the big screen, like it should be exhibited.

SYNOPSIS

After shocking and outraging the world with his genre-defining 1963 gore-fest BLOOD FEAST, exploitation pioneers H.G. Lewis and David F. Friedman sought (and positively succeed!) to outdo themselves with the deliciously depraved TWO THOUSAND MANIACS!

When a group of Yankee tourists detour into the small Southern town of Pleasant Valley — a place that’s magically rematerialized 100 years after its destruction in the Civil War — they’re welcomed by eager townsfolk as guests of honor at their centennial celebrations. Little do the Northerners know the festivities are set to include torture, death and dismemberment.
