Hillcoat helmed RED DEAD REDEMPTION Animated Short Film to air on Fox

I still haven’t seen The Road, but I love The Proposition and the fact that he is jumping into this genre again very much interests me.  I also do not own RED DEAD REDEMPTION yet either, but I can’t wait to get it.

From G4TV:

The short, which is directed by John Hillcoat (The Proposition, The Road), was originally scheduled to air on May 15, but it was pushed for reasons unknown to May 29 at 12AM EST/9PM PST. The specifics of the short are still under wraps, but Rockstar has revealed that it “chronicles a slice-in-time of protagonist John Marston as he tracks down his former fellow outlaw and friend, Bill Williamson.”

Most compelling of all, though, is that the short-film was “created entirely with in-game assets and technology,” suggesting it is, basically, a 30-minute cutscene, which is totally fine by me. The technology that powers the game’s facial animations and lip synching, in particular, is spectacular, and I can’t wait to see what Hillcoat does with it.

So, tune in to FOX on Saturday night!

He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
