‘THE COLOR OUT OF SPACE’ Trailer and Release Date Has Arrived!

We’ve had a long absence from director Richard Stanley, too long. Granted, some people recently found out about his experience on what was to be his big break by directing The Island of Dr. Moreau via the great documentary Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s Island of Dr. Moreau. It put a halt to his film career after films like Hardware and Dust Devil (which also had some interference via Harvey Weinstein). Luckily, XYZ FIlms and Spectrevision gave Stanley the opportunity to adapt H.P. Lovecraft’s short story with creative freedom. It also doesn’t help that these production teams got Nicolas Cage on board after their previous collaboration with director Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy. After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival and a Fantastic Fest screening, coupled with my love and admiration of Mandy, this is one film that is definitely high on the radar. Luckily, we won’t have to wait too long for the release. Check out the trailer below and read onward for the release date.

After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner (Nicolas Cage) and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism as it infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare.

THE COLOR OUT OF SPACE will only be in theaters on January 24, 2020

Coming from a household of a sci-fi father and a horror/supernatural loving mother, Andy's path to loving genre film was clear. He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
