‘DANIEL ISN’T REAL’, But This Teaser Trailer Is

The team that brought my favorite film of 2018, Mandy, is back with Adam Egypt Mortimer’s Daniel Isn’t Real. This is definitely a teaser trailer that doesn’t give us a lot of information so make sure you read the synopsis below the trailer to get a gist of what may be going on.

Troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind — and his soul.

Director Adam Egypt Mortimer previously directed Some Kind of Hate. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of that film, I’m interested to see what he does here and this teaser trailer has definitely teased me.

Andy Triefenbach is the Editor-in-Chief and owner of DestroytheBrain.com. In addition to his role on the site, he also programs St. Louis' monthly horror & exploitation theatrical midnight program, Late Nite Grindhouse. Coming from a household of a sci-fi father and a horror/supernatural loving mother, Andy's path to loving genre film was clear. He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
