‘CHILD’S PLAY’ (2019) Trailer is Online

Even though Don Mancini’s Chucky is still alive and well with a continuing franchise and upcoming TV Series with Channel Zero’s Nick Acosta, a remake or a reimagining of 1988’s Child’s Play will be coming to theaters this June. Let’s watch the trailer and talk about it afterwards.

I’m all for an update if the remake/reimagining can do something different. It is obvious that they are going with an “A.I. Gone Bad” scenario instead of a possession (as far as we can tell from this trailer). If that’s the case, I’m not sure how I feel about that. Granted, it may be more applicable in this day and age and be used as a cautionary tale of technology taking over but I’m not sure using this property is the best choice. If anything, it feels like a cheap cash-in. I will give it a fair shake come June 21st. Will you?
