Viewer Feedback Will Determine If ‘ZOMBIELAND’ Series Goes On

In an unusual turn of events, the Zombieland series on Amazon may not necessarily be happening after all.  Yes, we will see a pilot in the near future, but Amazon Prime members who view the pilot will determine the fate of the series from there.  Zombies are known for being slow-moving, but the struggle for a follow-up to the 2009 hit film seems to have been one of the most arduous projects in recent memory coming out of Hollywood.  Considering Zombieland made over $100 mil. worldwide during its theatrical run you would think it wouldn’t be that hard to get a sequel or series off the ground. Hopefully, the fans of the film will come out and garner the show with positive reviews if the series ends up being as successful of a mash-up of horror and comedy as the film was.  If all goes as planned, the first season will consist of thirteen 30 minute episodes that pick up two weeks after the events from the film.  Amazon is set to debut the pilot sometime in April along with a number of other pilots that viewers will bestow ratings on to determine which will go on.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
