2018’s ‘HALLOWEEN’ Looks To Be A Return to Form

We’ve been waiting for today since CinemaCon when some footage was actually shown. Throughout this week, we got little teaser videos and stills from Blumhouse’s Halloween, directed by David Gordon Green, and today, we get an inkling of what this new entry will bring us.

I’m a huge fan of John Carpenter’s Halloween. However, the sequels – while some are enjoyable – seem detrimental to what Carpenter built. Rob Zombie’s reboot didn’t really do much for me (other than prove that he needs an actual writer). I’m a fan of Green’s previous work (Joe, Undertow) and I know when some people saw Danny McBride’s name attached, there were some comedic memes floating around. After seeing this trailer, I’m extremely curious to see how the end product will turn out but it seems like there is more to this movie that just a retread of Carpenter’s film. While the opening sanitarium bit seems a bit silly, this is just the trailer.

However, we all know – the suckers we are – we will be in theaters on October 19th watching the latest in the Myers/Strode saga.
