Late Nite Grindhouse Presents ‘DON’T GO IN THE HOUSE’ at Marcus Des Peres 14 Cine on September 16 & 17

Late Nite Grindhouse continues its 2022 season with a sinister pick for September, Don’t Go In The House. Along the lines of Bill Lustig’s ManiacDon’t Go In The House is a psycho-slasher that is a bleak cake with the buttercream icing of a disco-burner called “Boogie Lightning”.

SYNOPSIS

DON’T GO IN THE HOUSE is the darker side of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. As a child, Donald Kohler (Dan Grimaldi) grew up under the sadistic rule of his overbearing mother. Her method of punishment? A severe burning. Through the years, Donald finds no comfort, sympathy, or rest in the real world. When he discovers his mother has died in her sleep, he thinks he may finally be free. But with the nightmarish visions and voices in his head, the damage has been done. Now he hopes to incinerate his repressive past by seeking out young women, taking them home and burning them alive. A notorious “Video Nasty” slasher that delivers on its title, this disco-infused slasher is a grimy, NYC-set update of PSYCHO for the 1980s.

He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
