Doughtery’s TRICK ‘R TREAT Follow-Up, KRAMPUS, Gets A Trailer

I can remember vividly hating Christmas some years. The fights between family. The idiot Krampusgift exachange. In fact, there are a ton of reasons to dislike Christmas. However, when Christmas comes around, I’m always filled with cheer, because otherwise Krampus will be near. So the idea of a horror film based on one of the coolest holiday myths of all time is really inviting.

To that end, we’ve been waiting so long for a trailer I thought my head might fall off. Well the wait is over. Co-Production Studios Universal and Legendary Studios have finally released the trailer for what certainly is to become this season’s Christmas classic, “Krampus.”

Horror fans should be excited for this movie, because Weta Workshop and Weta Digital, who created the effects of such great films as “The Lord of the Rings,” “The Hobbit,” 2014’s “Godzilla,” and one of this year’s best movies “Mad Max: Fury road,” have been attached to this project.

Stars include Adam Scott, Toni Collette, Allison Tolman, David Koechner, Conchata Ferrell, and Stefania Owen.

Hopefully, this new Christmas romp might give “Silent Night, Deadly Night” and “Gremlins” a run for their Christmas horror movie money.

Synopsis

Legendary Pictures’ Krampus, a darkly festive tale of a yuletide ghoul, reveals an irreverently twisted side to the holiday. When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

KRAMPUS‘ Arrives In Theatres on December 4.
