What can be better than 90 kills in 90 minutes?

“Ninety” is exactly how it sounds … 90 kills in 90 minutes.  With that simple fact, I applaud Darren Lynn Bousman’s upcoming film.  The film tells the story of a man who recently gets released from jail after being wrongfully convicted.  You can than assume what follows after that.  Although it is just in the pre-production stage and is not set to come out till next year, the fine folks over at chud.com  have announced that the film will be … (wait for it) … shot in 3D.  Considering every film these days, much to my dismay, seems to be shot in 3D, I am not surprised.  Bousman has previously given us the first three “Saw” sequels, “REPO The Genetic Opera”, and the upcoming remake of “Mother’s Day”.  Although the body count in the director’s previous work is nothing to sneer at, I feel that “Ninety” might be a head of the rest in the end.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
