The First Poster for ‘STOKER’ is a Gothic Work of Art

One of my most anticipated films of 2013 has to be Park Chan-Wook’s English language debut, Stoker.  After a stunning initial trailer that sets up an eerie fairy tale in the vein of classic Hitchcock, we now have an accompanying poster that illustrates this idea even more.  The poster is a masterpiece of Gothic style complete with skulls, crows, and an old piano, all entangled in vines.  If you haven’t yet checked out Park’s other films, Oldboy, Thirst, and Lady Vengeance – to name just a few from his exemplary career – do so right now.  Enjoy the great new poster below.  Stoker is set for release on March 1, 2013.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
