Paranoia Military Thriller THE SQUAD Unloads a new Trailer

Are you guys as excited as we are about Fantastic Fest!?!?!  September 22-29, Austin will once again be held victim by film-geeks from all over frothing at the mouth to get a glimpse at new and upcoming genre films.  Fantastic Fest always has a healthy dose of more well-known films, but also showcases a large amount of unknown films just waiting to be discovered.  One of these lesser known films that will be showing this year at the festival that is starting to gain a little bit of buzz is a film out of Columbia entitled The Squad (El Paramo).  The film follows a military unit who goes to investigate a military base who recently has ceased all communication.  When they arrive, they find a bloody and empty base occupied by only a mute woman in chains.  Get your first glimpse of the trailer after the break.

The trailer is courtesy of Twitch.  I really am excited about this one after checking out the trailer.  This is certainly one of the films we here at Destroy the Brain! are now excited about at Fantastic Fest.  Make sure to check back in the coming weeks as we will have more Fantastic Fest info for you .  Plus, make sure to read all of our reviews and coverage during the eight day festival at the end of September.  For now . . . enjoy the trailer for The Squad.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
