New ‘The Grey’ Trailer Shows off Fan’s Twitter Reactions

I have to admit that I was fairly skeptical when I heard about The GreyLiam Neeson seems to be doing quite a number of these tough and grizzled survivalist films that I felt it was just going to be more of the same.  Clearly, I was wrong.  After Harry Knowles and friends premiered it in Austin a few weeks ago as part of the Butt-Numb-A-Thon extravaganza, fans and critic’s Twitter accounts blew up following the screening.  Some even felt it was the best film of the festival.  A new trailer has been put together to promote the film.  In a stroke of genius, the trailer overlaps peoples Tweets over some new footage from the film.  This could easily be a new way to market films if The Grey ends up being wildly successful.  We will have to see when The Grey opens in theaters January 27, 2012.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
