Listen to the ‘THE DARK KNIGHT RISES’ Soundtrack in its Entirety Now

It goes without saying that Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Nolan has breathed life into what was thought to be a dying franchise. I remember when Batman Begins was released. I attended a midnight show and I loved it while the rest of the crowd seemed to have mixed reactions – mainly due to the fact of a different approach and the filming of the fight sequences. I knew that Nolan was laying groundwork for some interesting ideas and more specifically a groundwork of Gotham. Here we are, at the end of Nolan’s trilogy and long gone are the majority of negative opinions of a then indie filmmaker taking on a beloved character and franchise.

Hans Zimmer has scored some of what I consider his best work with Nolan. Whether it be the Batman films with his unorthodox approach of only having a 2 note swell as the “theme” which not only was a totally different departure of Elfman’s moody compositions from the Burton films but a departure from what superhero films were known to have.

Empire Online has posted, legally, the entire Hans Zimmer score from The Dark Knight Rises in advance of the film’s opening. For those that don’t want to spoil it, read another article. For those that don’t mind – as the tracks really don’t have any spoilers in their titles -Zimmer’s score for Nolan’s final film is available for all to listen below!

In addition to his role on the site, he also programs St. Louis' monthly horror & exploitation theatrical midnight program, Late Nite Grindhouse. Coming from a household of a sci-fi father and a horror/supernatural loving mother, Andy's path to loving genre film was clear. He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
