Jamie Foxx to Create Horror Anthology Series for Syfy Channel

So why do we love horror? Well, if you look at some of the top actors in Hollywood these days you can find their ties to our beloved genre. Few television moves make serious headlines but when a staple like Syfy releases their upcoming plans we all pay attention.  Especially when it involves a name like Jamie Foxx. The Django star spoke with Deadline about the details with the Tales From The Crypt like series that will deal more with “creepy morality tales with themes such as envy, jealousy and superficiality” instead of just zombies, ghosts and the such. Here is what Foxx had to say.

“This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life… Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!”

Sounds like it could be fun and as long as it has a certain scare factor it should do well. We live in an age of reality tv where normal things in life have recently become almost taboo. So I like the approach by Foxx with the morality tales. That reminds me of another anthology: Tales From The Hood. I know Syfy will do a great job with the marketing and promotion of the show. The question is with Foxx writing and directing, will he deliver? Stay tuned for more on this soon.
