HATCHET II Can Be Seen In All Its Gory Glory Starting Tomorrow

Yes, you read that correctly.  After all the controversy surrounding the theatrical release of the film back in October,  and the pulling of the film from theaters after being released for not even 24 hours… Hatchet II will rise unscathed.  For those who missed the few screenings that were even shown, you will finally be able to see Adam Green’s return to Victor Crowley’s swamps starting tomorrow December 1st.  Continue reading to find out how you can view Green’s slasher homage.

Dark Sky Films announced that Adam Green’s Hatchet II will be available on Video on Demand on December 1, 2010.  It will be shown on VOD on Time Warner and Comcast systems in its original unrated and uncensored cut!  This should be a relief for the numerous horror fans that were snubbed of its release earlier this year.  Although they are two entirely different beasts, we will have to see how Hatchet II sits against Adam Green’s other 2010 horror release, Frozen.

The synopsis of the sequel is as follows:

HATCHET II picks up right where the 2007 original film ends, as Marybeth (Danielle Harris from HALLOWEEN) escapes from the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling killer Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder from FRIDAY THE 13th). Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact her revenge against Victor Crowley. The film also stars other genre icons including Tony Todd, Tom Holland and well known names including Parry Shen, AJ Bowen and others.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
