Meet Dario Argento at Horrorhound Weekend!!

I had to put two exclamation points in the above title for this because I really am that excited! Anyone who knows me can attest to my love for Dario Argento.  Granted he has stumbled a bit with his recent films, yet I still put him high on the pedestal as one of the best directors in the history of horror.  The Bird With the Crystal Plumage, Deep Red, Suspiria, Inferno, Phenomena, Tenebre, Opera, The Stendhal Syndrome … The “Italian Hitchcock” (as he is often referred as)  has released so many great films in a career spanning over 40 years.  This master of horror will be making an appearance next spring when Horrorhound Weekend returns to Indianapolis.  Mark your calendars, because March 25-27, 2011, you will have the opportunity to meet Dario Argento.

Besides Argento … as if you needed another reason to attend the convention … you will be able to meet Suzanne Snyder, Grant Cramer, Harrod Blank, and Mike Martinez, all cast members from Killer Klowns From Outer Space.  You can find more guests at Horrorhound’s website, which you can find here.  More guests will be announced as the event looms closer.  Until next spring, enjoy this gorgeous shot from Suspiria.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
