Late Nite Grindhouse Presents ‘SAVAGE STREETS’ at Marcus Des Peres 14 Cine on September 25 & 26

Late Nite Grindhouse celebrates a Sleazy September with Danny Steinmann’s SAVAGE STREETS!

We’re doing an “encore presentation” of the 1984 film SAVAGE STREETS, starring Linda Blair (with Linnea Quigley as her deaf-mute sister) as a high school baddie who takes no shit and is ready to throw down when needed. It’s a fun, exploitation-filled revenge tale that only the director of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART V: A NEW BEGINNING can bring you. Backed by a catchy rock soundtrack backed by Aussie John Farmham, it’ll make you look up the LP on Discogs, SAVAGE STREETS is one of the most underseen femme-fatale revenge films out there.

Late Nite Grindhouse originally showed this film on 35mm back in November 2011 at the Hi-Pointe, which is why we are calling it an “encore presentation”.

Pre-Show Starts at 10PM, with Intro by Programmer & Host Andy Triefenbach and film to follow.

SYNOPSIS for

SAVAGE STREETS

Overloaded with ’80s excess and featuring one of Linda Blair’s most memorable post-EXORCIST performances. Blair is a tough-as-nails leader of a girl gang called the Satins. One night, as they cruise Hollywood, they run afoul of the greasy Scars, who nearly murder Blair’s deaf-mute sister. After many jaw-dropping turns of events, Blair suits up in a skintight leather jumpsuit and starts stacking up lowlife corpses like ham on a deli tray.

Andy Triefenbach is the Editor-in-Chief and owner of DestroytheBrain.com. In addition to his role on the site, he also programs St. Louis' monthly horror & exploitation theatrical midnight program, Late Nite Grindhouse. Coming from a household of a sci-fi father and a horror/supernatural loving mother, Andy's path to loving genre film was clear. He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
