See The New Vehicles From ‘MAD MAX: FURY ROAD’ In Action!

George Miller’s return to the desert wasteland of the future has encountered several obstacles on its path to the screen.  Everything imaginable whether it was budget cuts, script re-writes, casting issues, and even hazardous weather conditions has plagued this film from getting made.  The original intent was to start shooting in 2003.  Than that was pushed to 2009.  But it wasn’t until July of last year that cameras finally began to roll on the film.  Tom Hardy will be taking on the title role this time around in place of Mel Gibson (who may have a small cameo).  It is not known if Miller did shoot two new sequels back to back – it was his original intention to shoot Fury Road and Mad Max: Furiosa at the same time – but it’s good to know that we are getting at least one sequel.  We may be closer than ever to see some post-apocalyptic vehicular carnage gracing the big-screen very VERY soon.  How soon exactly is unfortunately up in the air.  I originally placed Fury Road on my list of anticipated films for 2013 given that that was the original plan as of last year.  However, post-production and 3D effects may be pushing the film into 2014.  There’s still rumors though that the film will be finished and released late this year. If we don’t see a new Mad Max film this year, we can at least enjoy this new video that surfaced that shows some of the vehicles racing around the desert.  It’s not the least bit exciting, but it does show some of the tricked out trucks which are really badass looking.  As soon as we have an official release date for Mad Max: Fury Road, we will let you know.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
