Oren Peli’s ‘CHERNOBYL DIARIES’ International Poster is Out!

Next month, Warner Brothers and Alcon Entertainment will be bringing a new film that was based on an original story from Oren Peli, the director/creator of Paranormal Activity. Now, I’m not sure how you guys feel about the Paranormal Activity films but I wasn’t the hugest fan of them and particularly am not too fond on how Oren Peli’s name is getting thrown out like brand when, personally, I don’t think it is deserved yet. When I typically hear a director’s name getting thrown around like that, I expect more than one film to be under his belt. Peli has only directed Paranormal Activity and is currently directing Area 51. However, companies look to the success of PA and think that Peli is a brand. All one has to do is look to ABC’s The River if they think that just banking on his name will bode towards success.

I’m not trying to talk down about the guy because I hear he is a genuine fan and the fact that these films that tote his name are not his doing, it’s marketing. Regardless, I’m still interested in checking this film out. Without further ado, here is the poster.

About ‘CHERNOBYL DIARIES’:

“CHERNOBYL DIARIES” is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, “Paranormal Activity.” The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone.

Alcon Entertainment and Warner Brothers are distributing the film in the U.S. on May 25.
