Night of the Demons Remake to Finally Hit DVD and BLU-RAY Shelves

Just in time for the Halloween season, Night of The Demons directed by Adam Geirasch (Autopsy) and starring Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie/Thirteen Ghost) Edward Furlong (Terminator  2/Pet Sematary 2) and Monica Keena (Freddy VS Jason) is scheduled for it’s direct to DVD and Blu-ray release Oct. 19th. Night of the Demons is a remake of the 1988 Cult Classic of the same name.

The original film is about a group of kids who go to a Halloween Party and end up in a battle with a bunch of demons. It is a film that is loved by horror fans worldwide and in my opinion a great movie to watch around the holiday. I will never be a fan of remakes and it really crushed me when I hear about certain movies in the works of being remade (Child’s Play/Hellraiser) and to me this film is of no exception. I wish theatres would rerun these movies in a digital format instead of throwing a bunch of money to remake and try to make these films better which clearly never works as most go to a straight to DVD release like this film. With all that said I will be checking this movie out to see how it compares to one of my favorite movies of all time and of course its hard not to watch anything Shannon Elizabeth is in!

About the Remake
Maddie Curtis and her friends Lily Thompson and Suzanne Reed are ready for a great Halloween night. They’re going to a party thrown by their friend Angela Feld at the notorious Broussard Mansion in New Orleans. Over eighty years ago, six people disappeared from the mansion without a trace and the owner, Evangeline Broussard, hung herself.
The dark history only serves to enhance the Broussard Mansions appeal on Halloween. At the decadent, out-of-control party, Maddie and Lily run into their exes, Colin Levy and Dex Thrilby, while Suzanne parties it up. Good times end, however, when the police bust up the party. After the rest of the guests leave, Angela, Maddie, Lily, Dex, Colin, Suzanne and their friend Jason Rogers discover a horrible secret. Their cell phones don’t work. The mansion gates are now mysteriously locked. Soon it becomes clear that supernatural forces are at work at the Broussard Mansion, and that there may be more to the tale of Evangeline Broussard than anyone knew.
It turns out that the Broussard Mansion is home to demons that need to possess seven vessels to break free of an ancient curse. One by one the guests fall victim, transforming into hideous creatures.
