Three New ‘YOU’RE NEXT’ Posters Are At Your Door

“Did you remember to lock your door?” That’s the slogan (or warning) plastered across three new posters for Lionsgate’s upcoming horror film You’re Next.  After years of waiting for the film, Lionsgate is inviting horror fans to enter into their cinematic home and check out the home invasion film.  Following a successful SXSW screening a few weeks ago – not to mention a Fantastic Fest screening in 2011 where Andy reviewed the film – it looks like the marketing for the film is ready to go into motion kicking off with three new “character” posters for the film.  Each poster was exclusively unveiled by Bloody-Disgusting, Collider, and Shock Till You Drop, but you can find them all below as well.  Sadly, they all have the Texas Chainsaw Massacre poster look that we have seen from Lionsgate before.  It’s not the way I would go about marketing this film which has more in common with the fun tone of Cabin in The Woods than anything. Also worth noting, the trailer is set to premiere online on March 28!  I wouldn’t be surprised if it plays in front of Lionsgate’s new seductive thriller Tyler Perry’s Temptation next weekend.  Then again, you would have to sit through a Tyler Perry film to see it on the big-screen.

You’re Next invades theaters on August 23.

The film is set during a family reunion getaway where the Davison family comes under a sadistic attack. When Crispian Davison (AJ Bowen) brings his new girlfriend (Sharni Vinson) along to celebrate the wedding anniversary of his parents (Rob Moran and Barbara Crampton), the family’s evening together is shattered when a gang of mysterious killers begin to hunt the family down with brutal precision. Unfortunately for the killers however, one of the victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
