We have had some issues with the administrative side of the site. Otherwise, this would have been posted earlier on in the week. However, it seems like everything is stable again so I wanted to post this out there.

Ruggero Deodato, Umberto Lenzi, Enzo G. Castellari, Aldo Lado, Sergio Martino and more are names that any European horror fan should know. These directors brought us titles that are being celebrated and paid tribute to today. Through an IndieGoGo campaign, these directors are trying to team up to bring their version of a horror anthology to the fans. The horror anthology genre is growing. Acting as somewhat as a tribute to the films that said directors grew up with like Creepshow as well as creating a product out of the communal aspect of genre filmmaking community. Earlier this week, a press release went out about a new horror anthology film trying to get off the ground called The Book. Check out the trailer and some snippets of what was posted on the IndieGoGo page.

A one off project of unprecedented scale, THE BOOK brings together, for the very first time, the writers, directors, actors, composers and artists behind the finest Italian genre cinema of the past sixty years. This includes the creative forces behind the Giallo movement, Spaghetti Westerns, Eurocrime and more. Each director will be given the opportunity to showcase their own personal vision of Rome, spread across a dozen episodes. Each segment in this feature film will contain a unique blend of macabre thriller, horror and the fantastic; all delivered with the unique style and method of the director in question.

THE BOOK features 12 individual episodes, each of which is helmed by a master of Italian genre cinema.

Following the ambitious extremity of THE PROFANE EXHIBIT, producers DAVID BOND, SERGIO STIVALETTI and MANDA MANUEL present: THE BOOK. Assembling the finest living Italian filmmakers, the project intends to provide these elite creative forces a platform with which they can showcase the dexterity and innovation which brought them initial acclaim. Free of studio constraints, THE BOOK will be Italian genre at its most raw and basic form, with the impetus placed upon recapturing the magic which resonates with so many fans the world over.

Some of the rewards included for funding the project include original VHS releases of some of the famed directors past films, original theatrical posters and a rare DEMONS mask, made by the original artist SERGIO STIVALETTI.
