Troma comes through by reinstating extras on ‘FATHER’S DAY’ Blu-Ray/DVD Release

As we previously reported, Troma removed some extras from their upcoming Blu-Ray/DVD Release of Astron-6′s Father’s Day. While this move upset many, it was the lack of communication that really set people off as it seemed like Troma pulled off the extras for no reason.

What used to be a 3-Disc Set is now becoming a 4-disc set with the soundtrack and other extras added back on! The only feature that was previously promised that will not be making the cut is the feature length documentary, “No Sleep, No Surrender”. For the most part, this is great news for fans because it does seem that we made a difference but also, we are getting the Blu-Ray/DVD package that was promised!

Synopsis:

Father’s Day follows the classic story we all grew up with: boy watches father raped and murdered, boy grows into a vengeful one-eyed man, man teams up with a priest and a male prostitute to take down his father’s killer.
Ahab is a revenge-crazed deranged psychopath/hero fresh out of prison for mistakenly slaughtering the man he thought was the ruthless monster who raped and murdered his father. But fathers are still being violated in the behind, dismembered with hacksaws, and set on fire. A chickenhawk hustler and a hot young priest search out the reclusive Ahab, determined to finish the job he started years ago and send this degenerate demon back to Hell, literally.

      What’s your source? I’m being told by Troma that they are putting whatever Astron-6 provides them on the Blu-Ray/DVD Release. We will see what happens when it is released on the 26th.

        Why would Astron-6 GIVE them anything else for FREE after the treatment they’ve received?

    This 4 disc release has deleted scenes, making of special effects featurette, the premiere of fathers day featurette across NY. LA, Austin Astron-6 shorts, and more along with a great 9 track CD
    As far as the reason Troma changed the special features is that Astron did not provide the features to us, If Astron ever does provide the extras, of course we will include them on a release.

    I hate to break it to you, but this release is exactly the same as the original, save for the soundtrack. No documentary (which means no deleted scenes, no bloopers), and no commentary.
