Chrome Skull Gets A Release Date For His Sequel

Laid to Rest was a classic. I haven’t seen a slasher that violent in a long time that wasn’t hyped with stars and crazy promotion like Hatchet was. Don’t get me wrong I love Hatchet too. Slasher movies are why I watch these films and fell in love with horror in the first place. The first time I saw Laid to Rest it was a late night and I was falling asleep and immediately woke up and dove into this film. I recall screaming (yes, screaming) during multiple portions of the film. That’s why I was so excited when I saw a sequel was being made, and now we have an official release date! Chrome Skull: Laid to Rest 2 directed by Robert Hall will be in theaters September 20th, 2011.

The cast and crew will be at Texas Frightmare Weekend and not only will they show new footage from the film, but they also will be handing some lucky person an actual prop from the film. The sequel stars 90210’sBrian Austin Green (what, he’s not rapping anymore), Owain Yeoman (Troy) and Mimi Michaels (Savage County), Danielle Harris (Halloween) and many more. It looks to be a gore fest and with this cast, I can see a high body count on the way. Here is the synopsis of Chrome Skull: Laid to Rest 2

Chrome Skull: Laid to Rest 2 picks up three months after we last left Chrome Skull (Principe) at the end of the original Laid to Rest. Tommy (Dekker), who’s struggling to come to terms with his encounter with the masked killer, has now gone missing courtesy of the maniacal Preston (Green), a mysterious player in the sequel with a sinister connection to Chrome Skull. Meanwhile, our killer has set his sights on a new girl, Jess (Michaels), and after the young girl disappears, Detective King (Yeoman) must race against the clock to find her and Tommy before it’s too late and try to put an end to ChromeSkull’s deadly legacy.
