Help Usher Video Watchdog in the Digital Realm!

The 23 year old magazine, Video Watchdog, is still in publication. This is an amazing thing for an amazing magazine. I remember picking up one back in the day because they were covering films that seemed off the beaten track that my Fangoria subscription wasn’t necessarily fulfilling me with at the time. I was taken back with the thoughtful write ups on some films that many film critics didn’t even think should be worthy of mentioning. I also picked it up because the size of the magazine was very portable. Portability has become a necessary attribute in my life and I am a huge advocate of publications having a digital version of some of physical products. While I don’t own a tablet, I plan on owning one soon. Also, as someone who has moved frequently, I can tell you that lugging around heavy boxes filled with magazines is no fun.

Tim and Donna Lucas are looking to take all issues of Video Watchdog, including some out of print issues, and digitize them. This digitization will help enhance the content by including trailers, videos and even the search option using criteria inside the content. Any fan of the genre will love Video Watchdog. I think the magazine could really benefit from growth with this move and they are looking to bring to all devices imaginable.

Instead of listening to me talk about it, watch Tim and Donna’s proposition including some great directors like Joe Dante, and John Landis!
