‘THEY LIVE’ style Corporation Takeover in Trailer for ‘BRANDED’

There has been a lot of talk and even documentaries on how America has a problem with obesity and is consumed by corporate entities. I think there is a general fear of becoming mindless and more of a puppet with no true form of identity or individuality. To just become a product or a consumer can be a disturbing thing. That is what interests me in the trailer for a film coming out this September called Branded. Yahoo Movies has premiered the trailer and I gotta tell ya, those monsters look really strange & creepy. Check out the trailer below:

Trailer:

Synopsis:

BRANDED is a dark and mind-bending journey into a surreal, dystopian society where corporate brands have unleashed a monstrous global conspiracy to get inside our minds and keep the population disillusioned, dependent and passive.  One man’s Misha (Ed Stoppard) passion to unlock the truth behind the conspiracy will lead to an epic battle with the hidden forces that really control our world.

BRANDED is the vision of two widely respected marketing executives:  Jamie Bradshaw and Alexander Doulerain.  Bradshaw and Doulerain co-wrote, produced and directed.  Ed Stoppard, Leelee Sobieski, Jeffrey Tambor, Ingeborga Dapkunaite and Max Von Sydow star.

You might also notice, if you are a tech geek like me, some QR codes littered within the trailer. They are all real. Break out your QR Scanner and scan some of them to check out some faux ads. There are 97 QR codes within the trailer. Have fun exploring.

In addition to his role on the site, he also programs St. Louis' monthly horror & exploitation theatrical midnight program, Late Nite Grindhouse. Coming from a household of a sci-fi father and a horror/supernatural loving mother, Andy's path to loving genre film was clear. He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
