The ‘ABC’S OF DEATH’ Trailer Will Show You Everything You Didn’t Learn in School

I don’t remember the alphabet ever being taught in such a bloody and graphic manner.  There’s no doubt I would have certainly paid attention more in class if the curriculum included killer toilets, samurais, boxing fights with dogs, topless women, and buckets of blood.  The ABC’s of Death looks to carry on the current trend of horror anthologies that was reignited by V/H/S earlier this year.  And like that film, there’s certainly some bad apples in this bunch of 26 films.  The film screened in late September at Fantastic Fest where there was quite a confusion over what version of the film was to be shown.  Apparently the producers have been re-naming and shuffling their deck of films around and what the current order was then and maybe is now could be quite different.  Either way, this trailer gives you a taste of the insanity in store with this film.  Since this is a Red Band Trailer, I would advise not watching this at work . . . or class for that matter.  The ABCs of Death will be released on demand January 31st, with a limited theatrical release planned for March 8th.

“Twenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABC’s OF DEATH is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death.”

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
