New ‘ZERO DARK THIRTY’ Trailer Amps Up the Tension and Paranoia

The marketing behind Kathryn Bigelow’s new film has been relatively hush-hush for quite awhile but is now swooping in with guns a blazing for the kill.  Little to no info was released about the film for many months and many speculated how exactly she was going to tackle the killing of Osama Bin Laden.  Now, within a month and a half time period, we have seen a few posters, stills, heard rumors of leaked classified data that was used for the film, and enjoyed two trailers.  The second trailer just got released this morning and showcases the wide acting talent Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Near Dark, Point Break) has been able to get for this film.  Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Chris Pratt, and James Gandolfini all pop up, even if some of them are mysteriously quiet during the entire trailer.  I’m talking about you Ms. Chastain! If the opening lines of this trailer don’t get you pumped-up for this political thriller than I don’t know what will.  Check it out below.

Zero Dark Thirty opens December 19.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
