Check This Out: Argento-esque ‘RED RED’ Trailer

A project that was seeking financial assistance via Kickstarter and one I backed was a short film called Red Red. The short is directed by photographer Ama Lea who helped create & photograph The Bloody Best Project. The Bloody Best Project is a collection that celebrates the horror genre through photographs. Directors & actors were part of original photographs or recreations of iconic characters or scenes. Trust me, you might have seen some of the photos from the project and if not, click on the link to take a gander.

Earlier in December, Ama and her team released the teaser trailer for Red Red on Vimeo.

Synopsis

RED RED is a sexually charged thriller that follows a young woman named Julia as she begins her journey into sexual exploration while trying to repress dark nightmares seemingly from her childhood.

Somewhere in this dark fairy tale her nightmares come to life and her lovers are being stalked and murdered by an unknown assailant in bloody, unfathomable ways.

There is no word on when backers will get to see the finished product but I’m sure it is soon. The look of the film heavily borrows from Argento’s Technicolor nightmare Suspiria and the music used in the trailer might seem like a cheap knock off of the Suspiria theme however, the music is just temporary and not part of the final film.
