The NYCC Footage for ‘EVIL DEAD’ Has Crawled Out of The Cellar

Granted, it’s in bootleg form, but it is here!!!  The much talked about footage from the upcoming Evil Dead is now available (for how long, who knows) to view thanks to a reader tipping off Bloody-Disgusting.  As you can see, it begins with the familiar beats fans have come to know from the original film.  Then things take a startling turn.  What follows is a punishing display of visceral violence and gore that will please your inner gore-hound.  I can’t help but notice the color scheme and photography at times recalls the I Spit on Your Grave remake that came out a few years back.  Maybe this is just a coincidence.  Either way, I’m still impressed with what I see. What are your thoughts?

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
