The New ‘ROBOCOP’ Poster Assures Us Our Future is Safe

Within the next week the internet will be in a whirlwind trying to keep up with all the new images and clips premiering at San Diego’s Comic-Con.  Such is the case with the new poster seen below for RoboCop. Even though Jose Padiha’s remake of the popular 80’s action flick isn’t getting released till Aug. 2013, MGM has released the first teaser poster for the film.  Fans will notice that the title font is quite similar to the metallic block letters seen in the original poster design.  Though the choice of the vertical presentation of it all is quite different but interesting.  I am a fan of the tagline as well.  Judge it for yourself below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
