The 2011 LA Film Fest brings the horror with THE INNKEEPERS and DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK

Following the close of the Cannes film festival and its shocking press conference with director Lars Von Trier (always a glutton for controversy) , news of the film line-up for the 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival has hit.  Two highly anticipated horror entries will screen at the festival which takes place June 16-26. The Innkeepers will screen June 19 and the 22nd while the Guillermo Del Toro written Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark will be the closing night film at the festival. For a complete list of all the films that will be showing at the festival, click here to find out everything you need to know.  Hopefully a definite release date for The Innkeepers will follow this festival showing.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
