STRAW DOGS Remake Trailer is Unleashed

The remake train rolls again.  This time it makes a stop in Peckinpah’s town as Rod Lurie (The Contender) brings us a reworking of the original Straw Dogs that starred Dustin Hoffman.  I am a huge fan of Straw Dogs and part of that reason is it actually unnerved me.  The scene is infamous and always talked about among film nerds due to moral views.  The remake pretty much looks like it is bringing nothing new to the table, but I’m interested in Marsden’s performance.  Beyond the break, you can catch a look at the film’s trailer.

Synopsis:

David and Amy Sumner, a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie, leading to a violent confrontation.
