Sign the POPCORN Petition!

Anyone who spent their weekends in the video store in the 90’s preparing your mini videotape horror marathons – I know I’m not alone – remembers the cover to the film Popcorn. For those of you who have never seen it, it is basically a tribute/love letter to the William Castle theatrical gimmick tied in with a story about a filmmaking lunatic who sacrifices his family on stage at the end of his film. Later, some kids decide to throw a horror movie marathon at their local theatre.  It’s a movie every horror fan, new and old, should check out.  Beyond the break, you can read about how there is a petition online to get this film back in Digital circulation.

For the record, I love this movie and I am lucky enough to own the Out of Print Elite Entertainment DVD of the film. I didn’t even know it was Out of Print until recently.  Now, Kristy Jett – Fright-Rags employee – and some of her friends want to get this back on DVD with a possible documentary made by the one and only Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Pictures!

Click here to sign the petition and tell everyone that love horror about it.  It’s really a gem of a flick.

He misses VHS and his personal Saturday night 6 tape movie marathons from his youth.
