Shiloh Fernandez Will Be Haunted in ‘EVIL DEAD’ Remake

After months of casting, one of the male leads has finally emerged in the long awaited Evil Dead remake.  Shiloh Fernandez, best known to horror fans for his unforgettable role in the chiller Deadgirl (as well as the equally forgettable Red Riding Hood) landed a part in the film. Variety is reporting that the actor is playing the male lead though no other info regarding the character has been released as of yet.  The remake to the 1981 horror film is being directed by Fede Alvarez.  As of last week, our sources tell us that auditions were still being held for the remaining male and female roles.  Who knows if this may cause a delay in the film production.  Does anyone else thinks he kind of looks like a more drugged-out Edward Furlong? Just a thought.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
