See David Tennant’s smarmy side in new FRIGHT NIGHT Clip

Though I had predisposed resentment when I first heard about a remake of Fright Night, I have slowly let down my guard the more I see from this upcoming film.  An inspired cast can go a long way in a film.  The right people in a role can make or break an entire film.  David Tennant is just that; a perfect choice that could save an otherwise unnecessary film.  Besides Tennant, Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrel have also struck me as surprisingly competent based on the previously released trailers and clips.  Yet, the focus is on the hack- showman/ vampire hunter in this new clip.  Tennant eats up the dialogue and extravagant set in this clip and shows that maybe I need to not be afraid of this once frowned upon film.  Catch the new clip after the break.

Craig Gillespie’s update of Fright Night bares its fangs on August 19.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
