Screen Adaptation Of ‘Zombie Blondes’ Is In The Works

Everywhere you go its zombies, zombies, and zombies. George Romero and others are walking around with their chest puffed out as they knew something years ago that few paid attention to.  And that is that zombies are cool. From videos games to TV shows, the zombie culture is sweeping the nation and doesn’t look to slow down anytime in the near future. Credit books like Wold War Z, movies like Zombieland, and games like Black Ops, that have propelled the younger generation to fall in love with the undead as we horror fiends have many years prior. Keeping the momentum in full swing in the next incarnation of a film based off a popular book is Zombie Blondes.

Zombie Blondes is a book written by Brian James.  Smash Media Films has hired Lior Chefetz and Joe Swanson to start penning a script to the popular cheerleaders of the undead novel. The film will be produced by Harry Winer and Shelley Hack and will focus around the premise of the book. The story follows a new girl at school who looks to gain acceptance by hanging with the popular cheerleaders only to find out . . .  you guessed it . . .  they are the walking dead.

The title of the book states “They’re Beautiful, They’re Popular, They’re Dead.” Which I’m thinking will lead to a CW worthy type of cast. One thing I will say is that the trend of zombie films are leaning more towards the comic side which should allow someone to sneak in an actual scary zombie film in the near future (I hope). Until then keep an eye on the cute girls at your high school because they may truly be man eaters!
