Ron Perlman teaches us how to be a Cimmerian Warrior in first clip from CONAN THE BARBARIAN

Clearly, as evidenced by this new clip from Marcus Nispel’s (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday The 13th remakes) upcoming take on Conan the Barbarian, you have to do two things to become a great warrior: Know how to fight with an egg in your mouth and know how to grow an epic beard.  Seriously . . . Perlman’s beard is incredible in this clip!  Kidding aside, everything from the red-band trailer to this first clip that just surfaced for the film, has actually given me hope in the director known for his knack for blood spraying.  With this clip from Conan the Barbarian, you can clearly see his love of blood is on show once again.  Check it out after the break.

First created by Robert E. Howard, Conan has emerged as an iconic warrior over the years in the pages of books, comics, and eventually on the screen thanks to the Austrian actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.  This new film paints the beginnings of the warrior now played by Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones).

Conan the Barbarian slashes into theaters August 19.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
