Red Band Trailer for ATTACK THE BLOCK Shows you who’s Moving to the Neighborhood

After a rising attack of positive reviews by both fans and critics alike, Screen Gems finally decided to give this little UK film a shot.  Attack the Block is indeed a little film, but delivers on what it promises.  It is a very funny and entertaining horror and sci-fi hybrid.  Joe Cornish makes his feature length directorial debut with this one leading a cast of mainly unknowns for us in the US, aside from one smart-ass that fans of Edgar Wright know and love: Nick Frost.  Cornish has made a name for himself recently as the writer on Spielberg’s and Jackson’s  Adventures of Tintin movie and as the writer for the upcoming Ant-Man, directed by Edgar Wright.  Attack the Block’s hairy and sharp teethed monsters will invade select cities starting on July 29.  Yet, right now, you can catch a new red band look at Attack the Block after the jump.  Our official review of Attack the Block should not be too far behind as well.  So get ready for some 80’s creature feature nostalgia action!

Attack the Block comes out in select cities starting on July 29th.  Unfortunately this is the same release date as Cowboys and Aliens.  So, please support independent cinema by checking out this little UK gem.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
