Paris, The City of Love and …Death

Last week, news broke that a new compilation film featuring ten of horror’s modern masters was to begin filming next year.  The horror anthology will follow in the same vein as the 2006 film, Paris, Je T’Aime (Paris, I Love You), which incorporated over fifteen different tales revolving around the city of love.  Though horror legend Wes Craven did contribute a short but sweet segment to the lovey-dovey film (sorry folks … it was a non-horror short), a lot more blood-shed will be shown in the spin-off  Paris, I’ll Kill You.  Well, it seems that K5 International wanted to waste no time promoting the new film as they have already released a brand new teaser poster for the upcoming feature. Beyond the break you can check out the poster as well as find out what directors will be treating us to their tale of Parisian terror.

Twitch Film has our first look at the sales art for Paris, I’ll Kill You.  Though there’s not much to look at, it does certainly create a cool logo for the film.  Though not all of the directors have been revealed yet, some of the directors who will be adding to the film will be Joe Dante (Germlins), Paco Plaza ([REC]) Vincenzo Natali (Splice), Xavier Gens (Frontier(s)), Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train), Christopher Smith (Severance), French duo Julien Maury & Alexandre Bustillo (Inside), and Joern Heitmann.  Given the already released names, I think it is fair to say that there should be some interesting shorts in this feature.  Though the horror film doesn’t begin shooting till early next spring, you can get your taste of Parisian horror early with an atmospheric short featuring Elijah Wood in Paris Je T’Aime.  There are many clever and well made segments in the film, but this vampire tale (entitled Quartier De La Madeleine) will please your thirst for blood.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
