New Poster for the Vampire Drama ‘BYZANTIUM’ Gives us Quite the View From Above

Many of you probably have differing opinions on Neil Jordan‘s film Interview With The Vampire.  I personally enjoy the attention to the sets and costumes that ultimately creates a beautiful and gothic looking film.  Some of you certainly don’t share this sentiment.  Yes, you could say that this story could be the precursor to  the more romantically infused Twilight films.  Though this blame should not be directed at Jordan but rather at writer Anne Rice.  Either way, the director has also given us a number of other interesting films including The Crying Game, In Dreams, and The Company of Wolves.  His new film, Byzantium, sees the director sinking his teeth into the vampire mythos yet again but ditching the period decor.  Instead of fluffy shirts we’re given a flowy red dress and an urban neon sign – as evident in the new poster.  In a time when we are treated to cheap photoshop collages of floating heads and other movie posters that all seem to resemble one another, this new poster comes across as quite unique and fresh.  It’s safe to say that I’m now curious about this film where it failed to really make a blip on my radar before.  Check it out for yourself below along with a behind the scenes photo of the stunningly gorgeous star Gemma Arterton.

Based on the play by Moira Buffini, Byzantium follows a vampire mother and daughter who pose as sisters on the run from “The Brotherhood.”
