New CONAN TV Spot shows some of the Best footage yet for the Upcoming Film

No. . . this is not the Conan talk show on TBS.  This Conan has a few more muscles and has long greasy dark hair instead of the other Conan’s red swoop.  The Conan I’m talking about is the Robert E. Howard character that was made popular by the many books and comics he was featured in since 1932.  This fierce barbarian was made even more popular with the 1982 film Conan The Barbarian starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Now, Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake) will be directing Jason Momoa in the lead role.  Though fans have been on the fence about this one since the film was first announced in 2009, this new trailer does give evidence that we may not need to be afraid of this new incarnation of the character after all.  Just as long as the annoying rock music featured in this trailer is absent from the final cut of the film, I’m sure we will all be happy.  Continue reading to watch the new TV spot.

Conan the Barbarian hits theaters August 19, 2011.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
