New 11-11-11 Trailer asks you to question your belief in God and the Devil

Religious themed horror is nothing new.  Numerous films have been made that tackle the complex subject of man coming to terms with his or her own belief system and the existence of the devil.  Being raised in the environment that I was, these types of films always held a particular interest for me.  Though, the new film from Darren Lynn Bousman doesn’t look extraordinarily original based on this new trailer, the film still shows some creepy imagery and certainly look like a horror film to see this winter.  Using great on location sets in Spain and a cast of mostly unknowns, Bousman probably won’t grab the attention of the teen vampire crowd with this film.  Hopefully though, 11-11-11 will draw the crowds looking for an old fashioned horror film.  Watch the brand-new trailer after the break.

11-11-11 will be released Nov. 11, 2011.  As if I had to tell you that.  The synopsis is below.

A horror-thriller set on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month and concerning a entity from another world that enters the earthly realm through Heaven’s 11th gate.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
