Meet David Fincher’s Lisbeth In New Revealing Article

As Fincher is in the midst of receiving an enormous amount of praise for his adaptation of Ben Mezrich‘s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, he is also busy tackling his next major project.  The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is the first book in the highly popular “Millennium Trilogy” written by the now deceased Stieg Larsson.  How faithful will Fincher be in this new adaptation of the source material?  Judging by his comments in a new article in W magazine … it seems he might drift into some new directions.  Take a look at the article beyond the break as well as the first official photos of Rooney Mara as our anti-hero Lisbeth Salander

For those unfamiliar with the books, Lisbeth is an odd character.  Computer hacker, anorexic, chain-smoker, piercing fetish, bi-sexual, are all phrases that best describe the complex character in the engaging murder mystery.  Thankfully, her character is one aspect that won’t change too much in Fincher’s adaptation.  What will he change?

Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) is less promiscuous, Salander is more aggressive, and, most notably, the ending—the resolution of the drama—has been completely changed.”

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
