Journey Into ‘A FIELD IN ENGLAND’ With This New Poster and Trailer

J.R.R. Tolkien once wrote that “not all who wander are lost.”  I think it’s safe to assume though that the men in Ben Wheatley’s new film are indeed lost in more ways than once.  A Field in England looks to be a hallucinogenic, historical, road trip of sorts from the director who previously gave us Kill List and the recently streaming Sightseers.  Between the stark black and white photography and images of dirty, brawny warriors losing their mind, I couldn’t help but draw comparisons to Nicolas Winding Refn’s Valhalla Rising.  Given the man behind the camera, I’m still curious about A Field In England, even though I get the sense I’ve tasted these psychedelic mushrooms before.  Drafthouse Pictures will release the film in the states later this year. Check out the trailer and poster below.

Somewhere between growing up on a steady diet of Saturday morning trips to the local comic-book shop, collecting an unhealthy amount of action figures, and frequent viewings of Ray Harryhausen and Hammer Horror films, came forth a nerdy boy that was torn between journalism and the arts. In high school, Michael found himself writing a movie column for the school newspaper. Yet, he went on to get a BFA in Studio Art at Webster University. When not writing about films, you can still find him discussing classic horror, collecting action figures, and reading Batman. Clearly, not much has changed.
